Launching soon

Join the xontax beta

xontax is for UK small business owners: limited companies and personal tax for directors first, then sole traders and landlords. Your company and your personal Self Assessment or self-employment are separate in the app. You switch between them. Add your email for early access and updates.

What joining the beta means

Early access invites as rollout opens

Product updates ahead of public launch

Priority for bank-first workflows and AI review tools

Public beta: no live filing to HMRC yet

xontax is in development. You can connect your bank, review categories, and use AI suggestions. Sending tax returns to HMRC is not available yet, but we are working on it.

Please share as much feedback as you can to help us make xontax better.

We are onboarding in controlled beta waves. You will get launch updates and access as slots open.

What to expect

Available in the product

  • Bank feed: real statement lines as the starting point for every decision.
  • AI categorisation: suggestions with reasoning you can review; you stay in control.
  • AI Accountant you ask first; answers include things to verify yourself and source links; not regulated tax advice.
  • Documents, reports, contacts: the everyday paperwork for each business you run in the app.
  • Xero history: connect in Settings to pull journals across (cutover shown there). QuickBooks, FreeAgent, and Sage connected import is coming soon.

In progress: Making Tax Digital and HMRC filing

We are building toward Income Tax (MTD), VAT MTD, and company-tax surfaces where the product will support them. Beta users may see workflows advance between releases. We will be transparent in product notes and emails. See the beta banner on this page for sending returns to HMRC; when it ships, nothing will be submitted without your explicit steps in the app.

Need help deciding first?

Request beta access by email

You can add your email using the form above, or email us with a few lines about how you work today.

In your email, include:

  • Limited company, personal tax, sole trader, or landlord
  • Spreadsheets, accountant, or software today
  • What you want fixed before April 2026

Switching from Xero, QuickBooks, FreeAgent, or Sage

You do not start from nothing. Connect Xero in xontax to pull historic journals, including limited company books where you link that org, using a cutover date the app derives and shows in Settings, so older periods stay traceable next to new bank-fed activity. Connected import from QuickBooks, FreeAgent, and Sage is on the roadmap.

Who beta access is for

Limited companies

The company has its own view in the app: bank, VAT, and filings for the Ltd, not mixed with your personal business. Switch in the app when you change which one you work on.

Personal tax and sole traders

Your personal Self Assessment, self-employment, or property records with less admin and clearer review. A spouse or civil partner with their own login keeps their own records; shareholdings and splits are for you and your adviser.

Landlords and mixed income

Property and trade hints where your bank labels help the AI tell types apart; you confirm the final category.

Launch-soon, not wait-forever

xontax is close to launch. Joining the beta gives you the fastest path to early access and rollout updates.
